Greetings Detroit and all who grace us here! Feb 18, 2010 - North Corktown HQ, Detroit - I know that we just sent one of these out, but we've had some changes and I wanted to thank everyone who joined us in Eastern Market last night for the FREE screening of FOOD, Inc. Local Foods Resource Guide We had an incredible turn out and great local resources to share. I put together this bare bones Local Foods Resource Guide to hand out at the event and wanted to make it available to everyone. Though this list is FAR from exhaustive I invite you to help expand it and create a living document of the Food Security/Justice Movement in Detroit. Please send Resource Name, Contact Info (Name, Address, Phone, email, website) and a short description of their Local offerings my way. Offers of assistance to co-create this database will be heartily welcomed! | People's Yoga is ON! We have been blessed to find an incredible instructor for this evenings People's Yoga session at Spirit of Hope Church (6:30p). Jill Shilling will be joining Angela for this special session. All are welcome and People's Yoga is always donation-based so that people who feel the need for yoga can access yoga whether they have a $10 in their wallet or not. I'm very thankful for Jill and pleased that People's Yoga will carry on through my recovery this week. Here are the details on People's Yoga from my blog. | Corktown Community Brunch Excitement about this Sunday's Corktown Community Brunch is building. A Displaced Sweets For Your Sweetie Due to snow the week before Valentines Day our Sweets for Your Sweetie Meetup at Irene's was cancelled. Detroit Urban Sustainability Training Detroit Urban Sustainability Training - 10 Days in Detroit learning Urban Sustainability from Detroiters living it. Thank You all so much! Thanks again for all the well wishes. I'm feeling better daily. I'm sure that once again, I'm forgetting to add important items to this edition, but I plan to send these out on a more regular basis, so I'll do my best to catch it next time.
