Nature Is A Minded Entity

"There is a great insight which our culture is deliberately designed to suppress, distort, and ignore: that Nature is a minded entity; that Nature is not simply the random flight of atoms through electromagnetic fields; that Nature is not the empty, despiritualized lumpen matter that we inherit from modern physics. But it is instead a kind of intelligence, a kind of mind." —Terence McKenna

Practice this morning was phenomenal. My Supta Kurmasana is really coming along with my ankles locking tightly in the crook of my neck and the shoulders getting under the calves. Feels great! I'm quite pleased with my recent laid back approach to Ashtanga. I've stopped being martial about it and have just been letting it come around when it is right. I've a tendency to beat myself up about having a lackadaisical attitude towards anything, but maybe this relaxed approach is good on occasion. Of course, I can already feel the backlash coming on. An intense martial phase is coming to rid my mind of this relaxed attitude. Not judging the practice whether it be a grunt or a grin is key.

This weekend is the DEMF, Movement Festival, or whatever it's called and a huge posse of Vikings are coming in! I'm excited and I'm afeared. The Vikings bring out the best and worst in me. The weekend is also J9's birthday, which I am really excited about! Sunday I'm kicking the Vikings to the curb to spend the day with J9. I'll return to the pillaging of Detroit on Monday.
