2HB, Well... Duh!

I've been listening to a song titled 2HB by Roxy Music for over 30 years. My father was a huge Roxy Music fan so as I grew, I grew with Roxy Music as part of the soundtrack. Needless to say, 2HB has always been one of my fave tracks. It's not to over the top in the drama department and manages to avoid intense horn breaks. It's a perfect multi use tune. So, I'm driving to work this morning when 2HB cues up in the ipod. I turn it up a few notches and carry on my way enjoying the blinding sun while weaving between this and that. Then it hit me, 2HB is a tribute to Humphrey Bogart! I've always known that the song contained lyrical references to Casablanca but I never put it together that 2HB was "To Humphrey Bogart!" It was something of an epiphany due to the fact that it was right there in front of my face for over 30 years! The epiphany was quickly followed by an intense "Duh!"

So, how many small details like this are sitting unnoticed under my nose and are there enough of them to totally alter my concept of reality? I suspect so. That, my friends is very exciting!
