Burning Man from Space

Here's a satellite picture from Burning Man '05. I think the population was right around 40,000 this year! Traveling to the Playa (the pre-historic lake bed that BM is held on) for the past two years has altered my life immensely. The people, the art and the theory of radical self reliance have assisted me to become even more of an optimist. The immensity of this event, and seeing it in this photo taken from space boggles my mind with wonder and awe.
Humans are pretty cool sometimes!
