Ashtanga 6
This is my 6th day practicing at Royal Yoga. I have yet to miss a day of practice and have been there promptly at 5:30 every morning since Mathew gave me the go ahead to do so. I'm thrilled with the space and the set up. An hour and a half is still not enough for me to get through the primary but I seem to move forward every day.
That being all said, today was a bit rough as I had a hard time getting out of bed and just seemed to be struggling with practice. I'm spending time throughout the day visualizing my jump backs to the point where I can almost feel them. So when I'm on the mat and simply crumble on top of my crossed legs I feel a bit flustered... then the struggle and muscling begins. Matthew came over when I tried to do a jumpback straight from Janu Sirsasana C and advised me to keep working on the jump backs after straightening my legs and bumping up. He advised that I could really mess up my foot, and he's right. The strength needs to come from the arms and the bundas anyway, using the asana themselves for leverage isn't going to help me in the future. Time got away from me this morning as well and I only made it to Marichyasana B before moving to the finishing. I don't want to pressure myself, but I need to work through Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana and Ardha Baddha Padmottasana with efficiency in order to keep my time down.
